Soap bubbles
Allie swung the wand,
watching mesmerized as the bubbles drifted away. Suddenly, giggling, she ran
after them. Dad stood beside me, crippled by the years, yet eyes twinkling as
he remembered long ago when we both played this game. I dipped the wand and
handed it to him. He held it reverently for a moment before sweeping it in an
arc with the subtle grace of a conductor and his baton. We watched the bubbles go
streaming, carrying with them joyful memories our younger selves as Allie ran laughing,
chasing them. Dad leaned gently against me, and we both smiled.
